Aquila District Roundtable
September 13, 2018 | 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at Bellaire United Methodist Church (4417 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX 77401) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Like us on Facebook.
Aquila District Aquatics Day
August 26, 2018 | 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Aquatics Day is an opportunity for Boy Scouts to work on the Swimming or Lifesaving Merit Badge and Webelos Scouts to earn the Aquanaut Adventure. The size of each class is limited based on the number of volunteers. These are not give-away merit badges, and this is not a merit badge factory. Each Scout is expected to fulfill all the requirements by reading the merit badge book ahead of time. Scouts are expected to participate fully during the class in order to receive full credit for the requirements completed onsite. The event is being held at Lamar High School (3325 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77098).
Scouts must be able to pass the BSA Swim Test at the event in order to proceed with the class. The Swimming Merit Badge is a prerequisite for the Lifesaving Merit Badge. Adult participation is required to offer this event. Space is very limited. Class size is limited depending on the number of volunteers. If the event is full, a waitlist will be offered and you will be notified if a spot opens. Additional spots will be open if there are more adult volunteers.

Annual Planning: A common element of strong units is they all have a good annual program planned a year in advance. The plan is then shared with all families in the form of an annual program calendar. Two other key elements of successful units are trained leaders and having the right leaders.
